Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC)

Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) is a blended cement that combines ordinary Portland cement with pozzolanic materials such as fly ash, volcanic ash, or silica fumes. Known for its durability and strength, PPC is widely used in diverse construction applications due to its enhanced workability and eco-friendly properties.

Product Specification

Compressive Strength:

  • At 3 days: 16 MPa (minimum)
  • At 7 days: 22 MPa (minimum)
  • At 28 days: 33 MPa (minimum)

Fineness:

  • The fineness of PPC cement is typically around 300-350 m²/kg (Blaine fineness).

Setting Time:

  • Initial Setting Time: Minimum 30 minutes
  • Final Setting Time: Maximum 600 minutes

Soundness:

  • The soundness of OPC should not exceed 10 mm (as per the Le Chatelier method).

Chemical Composition:

  • The percentage of pozzolanic material (fly ash or other) varies but should be between 10% and 30%.
  • The content of lime (CaO) should typically be in the range of 60-67%.

Benefits:

  • Higher resistance to chemical attack, including sulfate attack and chloride-induced corrosion.
  • Lower heat of hydration, making it ideal for large mass concrete structures like dams.
  • Environmentally friendly due to the use of industrial by-products like fly ash.
